Energy Storage System Customer Case Studies
The 200MW/400MWh shared energy storage power station project imposes extremely high requirements on PCS rectification and inversion efficiency. By utilizing POWERSi silicon carbide (SiC) Schottky diodes in the core PCS rectification/inversion modules—combined with a FRED-based auxiliary power supply solution—the system achieves a rated rectification/inversion efficiency exceeding 98.5%, a core module temperature rise of less than 10K, and a 30% reduction in O&M costs.
Ev Charger Customer Case Studies
Designed for home charging stations and public fast-charging piles, these solutions address reliability challenges such as electrostatic discharge (ESD), grid surges, and high-humidity creepage. The SS34 Schottky diode protects CP signal control circuits, while SiC Schottky diodes support 800V–1000V high-voltage fast-charging platforms, boosting charging station efficiency to 98.5% and reducing the charging interruption rate by 82%.
Industrial Power Supply Customer Case Studies
During EMC certification, a 300W industrial switching power supply exhibited conducted emission levels exceeding limits in the 150 kHz–500 kHz frequency range; the root cause was high-frequency noise generated by the reverse recovery current of the PFC freewheeling diode. By switching to a POWERSi FRED (Fast Recovery Epitaxial Diode) featuring ultra-fast, soft-recovery characteristics (trr < 35 ns), conducted emissions were reduced by 10 dB, enabling the unit to successfully pass EN 55032 Class B certification.
Welding Equipment Customer Case Studies
Inverter welding machines require rectifier components capable of handling high currents and performing high-frequency switching. POWERSi offers a comprehensive solution—combining high-current rectifier bridges (KBPC/GBJ series), FREDs (Fast Recovery Epitaxial Diodes), and SCRs—to withstand startup surge currents and temperature rises associated with high-frequency switching, thereby enhancing the equipment's stability and longevity during long-term, full-load operation.
Led Driver Customer Case Studies
LED driver power supplies operate in a high-frequency switching mode (50 kHz–200 kHz) and are highly sensitive to switching losses and costs. POWERSi offers a selection strategy based on voltage ratings: Schottky diodes are used for ≤60V applications to achieve the lowest forward voltage (VF); FREDs are used for the 60V–200V range to balance switching speed and voltage withstand capability; and ultra-fast recovery diodes are used for ≥200V applications to minimize high-frequency losses. This approach enables customers to strike the optimal balance between efficiency and cost.
Pv Inverter Customer Case Studies
A customer using a 5kW string PV inverter found that their original silicon Schottky diodes exhibited excessive leakage current under high-temperature, high-irradiance conditions, causing the system to fall short of efficiency standards. By replacing the freewheeling diode in the boost circuit with a POWERSi Silicon Carbide (SiC) Schottky diode (650V/10A), the overall system efficiency improved by 1.2% and thermal management requirements were significantly reduced, enabling the unit to successfully pass grid-connection efficiency certification.
