Project Background:
Inverter welding equipment imposes two core requirements on rectifier components: high current-carrying capacity and high-frequency switching performance. During operation, the rectifier bridge must withstand frequent, sudden load fluctuations and surges of high instantaneous current; standard diodes are prone to failure due to breakdown or overheating caused by such surge currents.
Product Models Used:
• High-current rectifier bridges (e.g., KBPC series, GBJ series) — used for AC-DC conversion at the welding machine’s input stage
• Fast-recovery diodes/FREDs — used for high-frequency rectification and freewheeling at the inverter output stage
• Thyristors (SCRs) — used for output power regulation and overcurrent protection in welding machines
Issues Addressed:
• High-current surges during welder startup and the welding process (requiring attention to the IFSM surge peak current parameter)
• Control of losses and temperature rise during high-frequency switching
• Stability and service life during long-term full-load operation
Expected Outcomes (Based on Standard Industry Data):
• Selecting components with low VF and low trr can significantly reduce the temperature rise of the welding machine.
• Appropriately selecting rectifier bridge and thyristor solutions can enhance equipment reliability and service life.
