Project Background:
A 200 MW/400 MWh shared energy storage power station utilizing an integrated centralized PCS (Power Conversion System) and step-up transformer solution, imposing extremely high requirements on rectification and inversion efficiency.
Product Models Used:
Application scenarios for the core internal power components of Energy Storage Power Conversion Systems (PCS) include:
• Silicon Carbide Schottky Diode:
Used in PCS rectifier/inverter modules to improve efficiency and reduce losses.
• Fast-Recovery Rectifiers/FREDs:
Used in applications such as auxiliary power supplies and drive circuits.
Problems Addressed:
• Energy storage power stations demand extremely high cycle efficiency for Power Conversion Systems (PCS), where traditional silicon-based devices face significant efficiency bottlenecks.
• The complex climate of Northwest China—characterized by arid, sandy conditions and wide temperature fluctuations—imposes rigorous requirements on device reliability.
Project Achievements:
• Rated rectification and inversion efficiencies both exceed 98.5%, with cycle efficiency improved by 0.4% compared to the previous generation.
• Utilizes an advanced thermal management system; temperature rise in the core compartment is kept below 10K, and O&M costs are reduced by 30%.
